Merriam Park Kitchen

This 1905 home in the Merriam Park neighborhood of St. Paul contained a kitchen that, at first glance, was somewhat attractive. However, the original kitchen was very poorly laid out and simply did not function well for a modern family. The charge was to open the space to the adjacent dining room and completely reconfigure the kitchen within the same footprint, making it both user friendly and stylistically appropriate for the age of the home. Painted cabinetry with full inset doors, soapstone countertops, period appropriate hardware and lighting and thoughtful detailing, elevate this modestly sized kitchen to a very functional yet elegant space with vintage charm.
