As co-founder of Edit Design Build Studio, Zoe oversees the business, finances, and sales processes, as well as creates and implements all of Edit's systems and operations. Her passion for process and details is evident in her active collaboration in all design and project planning with husband and partner, Ryan.
Zoe strongly believes that the best designs and processes are born from clearly defined visions and goals. With a true appreciation for collaboration, Zoe encourages homeowners to envision their dreams and works hard to help align them with their budget. Knowing that thoughtful and deliberate steps taken in the design and project planning phase lead to successful projects and satisfied clients, Zoe takes great pride in Edit's thorough planning.
After falling in love with Minnesota and its people during a brief visit, Zoe moved to the Twin Cities in 1992 to attend Macalaster College. With her degree from Macalaster in Urban Studies and a passion for development and renovation, Zoe subsequently attained her certification in Kitchen and Bath Design. Most recently, Zoe achieved the prestigious Certified Remodeler (CR) designation through the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI). Born and raised in the Boston area, Zoe now enjoys living and working in the Twin Cities and will always consider this home.
As co-founder of Edit Design Build Studio, Ryan oversees the design, production and project management as well as marketing. Whenever possible, Ryan is still known to grab his tool bag and will always enjoy swinging a hammer. Ryan's dedication to thoughtful design is matched by his hands-on commitment to turn visions into reality. With a strong eye for design and detail, every Edit project is devoted to excellence in both design and craftsmanship.
Since earning his degree in Architecture in 1999 at the University of Minnesota, Ryan has vigorously pursued a career that merges design with construction. As both an intern and later a full-time employee, Ryan enhanced his design skills at Harry Teague Architects in Aspen, CO, working on and managing diverse projects including the award winning Glacier Residence, Smuggler Street Residence, Benedict Music Tent, and Anderson Ranch Arts Center.
Returning to the Midwest in 2002, Ryan worked with his father Rick to re-envision and renovate their family's 110-year old Wisconsin farmstead into a serene, contemporary family retreat. Ryan's vision of forming a design-build firm can be traced to this endeavor, and in 2009, Ryan and Zoe merged their mutual passions for strong design and exceptional craftsmanship with the creation of Edit Design Build Studio.
